INJURIES AND BASKETBALL Back |
Basketball is a fast paced, high intensity semi-impact sport.
The basketballer needs to be flexible, agile and strong. There is enormous stree on the lower extremities, especially the pelvis, hips and legs. The connective tissue, fascia, needs to be free to allow the large muscle groups such as the gluteals, hip flexors, quadriceps and hamstrings to provide maximum energy and to recover after a torrid game.
I have found that with the use of myofascial techniques and acupuncture, that the stress on the tissues can be released effectively, allowing the athlete to continue to compete injury free. |
